We’ll walk the loop around Whitaker Ponds, enjoying the waterfowl, birds and bunny sightings. We’ll learn about the history of the space, and what’s still being done to restore it. We’ll learn about the wildlife that live in the space before we settle down at the gazebo or shelter, and enjoy our solitude together as we write, read, meditate, knit…
This is a time to be alone in nature in the presence of other BIPOC. Bring your favorite cool drink and snack, your positive vibes and a project to work on or a book to read!

This is a wildlife refuge. Dogs and other pets are not allowed, even on a leash.

If you arrive at 12pm, you’ll get to sit in on a lesson about birds of prey. We have a guest teacher that is bringing a great horned owl, falcon and hawk to teach about birds of prey to the POCO Guardians. You’re free to listen in.
